Most Famous Period

 EVŽEN HADAMCZIK
 Date of birth: October 28,1939
 Died: September 19, 1984

In 1978 Evžen Hadamczik came to Bazaly as a coach without having worked in the league before. He persuaded the squad very quickly of his knowledge and understanding of football.  He didn’t only understand the rules of football but the players above all. This was the beginning of the most successful period in the history of Baník. Hadamczik’s capacity in leading the players to the best possible performances was demonstrated already in the 1978/1979 league season when Baník was placed second in 1st league only losing the title within a whisker. Although Baník didn’t win the title, the 1978/1979 season was memorable. Thanks to the victory of Baník in Czechoslovak F. A. Cup a year before Baník was qualified to a European cup competition and in the 1978/1979 season the club won through to the semifinals of Cup Winners‘ Cup. A year later the players didn’t miss out on the opportunity to win the title and the club won the first place in Czechoslovak league in the 1980/1981 season as well. Then Baník was placed second a year later, which meant qualification of the club into UEFA Cup. It was worth fighting for the cup as Ostrava players went through to the quarterfinal of the Cup.  Evžen Hadamczik was coaching Baník Ostrava in the 1982/1983 season the last time. Also then the team was struggling for the title, from the first to the last but one round, and it won the second place in the end. The balance of Mr. Hadamczik’s work in Bazaly is admirable in many aspects as his players won two titles and were placed second three times in five league seasons. Under his leadership Baník Ostrava achieved to play incredible 74 home matches without a defeat in an uninterrupted series. He leads national team in one match, in autumn 1984 he committed self-murder.

 ROSTISLAV VOJÁČEK
Date of birth: January 23, 1949

He overgrew his counterparts not only by his figure but his performance as well. He came strong, unshakeable and with a good knowledge of play from Kojetín. His energic football was a favourable complementation of a rather technical play of his team-mates. What is valued about stoppers are their speed, hardness and track of play. Rostisav Vojáček both brought it with him to Ostrava or gained all of this very fast. He was a pillar of defender ranks, he was capable of stirring his team-mates up when they were not getting on well with the play or when they were at the end of their strengths. Vojáček played for Baník in most league matches (381).
